Short answer: Go to Comments → Comment view, click a comment and click Send on one of the AI suggestions below it. To change the text first, click Edit. When the reply is sent, replient.ai moves the comment to Done and opens the next one.
Before you start
You need the permission manage comments. The account owner always has it. For team members without it, the buttons are greyed out.
At least one channel must be connected.
Replying by hand costs no credits. The first set of AI suggestions is drafted when a comment arrives and uses credits (see How do credits work?).
Step 1: Open your comments
In the sidebar, click Comments and then Comment view (1). It lists all comments from all channels, newest first. The Open tab shows comments that still wait for you. The Done tab shows comments you already handled (2). Use search, filter and sort to find a comment (3).
Post view groups the comments by post instead. See What is the difference between comments view and post view?. To narrow the list down, see Can I filter my comments in comments tab?.
Step 2: Pick a comment and read the suggestions
Click a comment in the list. The comment (1) opens in the middle, with its sentiment, tags and post on the right. Below it you see the AI suggestions as cards. The tick (2) marks the comment as done. Edit (4) changes a suggestion, Send (5) posts it and the round arrow (6) asks for more suggestions. The steps below explain each of them.
The first card is called Favorite answer (3). It is the first suggestion the AI wrote for this comment. The next cards are called Alternative 1, Alternative 2 and so on.
Suggestions come in sets of three. If there is more than one set, use the arrows next to the page number to switch between them.
Sometimes the AI suggests to only like or hide a comment. The card then shows a heart or a crossed-out eye with the word Like or Hide. Send runs that action.
Click Show Activities to see everything that already happened to this comment. See What's the Activity Protocol?.
Step 3: Send a suggestion as it is
Click Send (5) on the card you like. A message in the corner says Sending 1 reply and then Reply successful. The comment moves to the Done tab and the next comment opens.
The comment only moves and the next one only opens if the setting Move comments automatically to done, if they were answered or liked is on. It is on by default. You find it under Learning.
If you already answered a comment with text, replient.ai asks You already answered this comment before. Do you really want to send another answer? before it sends a second reply.
Step 4: Change the text before you send it
Click Edit on a card. The text becomes editable (1). Change it, insert a template (2) or an emoji (3), then click Send (4).
To tag the commenter, type @ and pick their name. This is not available for review platforms such as Google Reviews, Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Ausgezeichnet.org.
Some platforms have a length limit. TikTok allows 150 characters per comment. A longer reply is posted as two comments if it can be split into two parts (up to 300 characters in total). The editor tells you when it cannot. On Google Play Store the limit is 350 characters. The counter turns red and Send is disabled when the text is too long.
Step 5: Write your own reply
Every reply starts from a card. To write your own text, click Edit on any card, delete the text and type yours. There is no separate empty reply box. If a comment has no suggestions yet, it shows No Generated Suggestions! and a Generate button. Click it to create the first set.
Step 6: Use your templates
A template is a reply you saved once and can reuse for any comment. The Favorite answer card is not a template. It is only the AI's first pick for this one comment.
Click Edit on a card, then click the template icon next to the emoji icon. The Templates window opens.
Click a template to put its text into your reply. Edit it if you want, then click Send.
To save a new one, click Add new comment template (1 in the picture below), type the text and confirm with the tick. Use New category (2) to sort your templates into groups.
Write {{username}} in a template to insert the commenter's name. It becomes an @mention on platforms that support mentions.
Hover over a template to edit or delete it. Drag templates to sort them inside a category.
Templates belong to your brand. The tabs Comment and Message keep reply templates for comments and for DMs apart.
Quick way: while you edit a reply, type / at the start or after a space. A list of your templates appears. Move with the arrow keys and press Enter or Tab to insert one. Esc closes the list. These are the only keyboard shortcuts in the comments inbox.

Step 7: Get more suggestions
Not happy with any card? Click the round arrow icon (6) at the bottom left of the suggestions. replient.ai adds a new set of three. Extra sets are free. A comment can have up to 15 suggestions. After that, a message says that you reached the maximum number of regenerations.
Step 8: Reply to comments in another language
If a comment is not in your account language, a link under it says translate into followed by your language. Click it to read the translation. show original switches back.
On a suggestion card the translate icon next to the title shows the suggestion in your language. Click Edit to change the translation. Then click save and translate back to the comment's language. Send is only available for the original text.
Your account language is set under Settings → Language. See How do I change my password, email or language?.
To translate every new comment and suggestion automatically, turn on Automatically translate incoming comments and suggestions into your account language under Learning.
Step 9: Mark as done or reopen
You do not have to reply to every comment. Click the tick above the comment to mark it as done. A message appears for a few seconds with Undo. In the Done tab, the same button reopens the comment, so it moves back to Open.
Good to know
Pending automation: if a comment shows Automation pending for this comment, an automation will answer it soon. Click Cancel Automation if you want to answer it yourself. Whatever the automation already did stays.
Bulk action running: a comment in a running bulk action is locked until the action is done. See How do I handle giveaways and close many comments at once?.
Waiting for credits: when your credits run out, new comments wait and show Waiting for credits. They are processed when you add credits.
Errors: if a reply fails, a red message gives the reason. See What do the error messages mean when I reply, like or hide a comment?.
💡 Tip: Replies are public as soon as you click Send. To remove a reply, see How do I like, hide, delete or block a comment?.
