Who can still see hidden comments on each platform?

What happens after I hide a comment via replient.ai?

When you hide a comment through replient.ai, it isn't deleted – it simply becomes invisible to the general public. Who can still see the comment depends on the platform.

Important: Hiding comments is currently available on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok only. On LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google Reviews, the hide feature is not supported by the platform API – you can use other moderation options like deleting or replying instead.

Facebook

When you hide a comment on Facebook, it remains visible to:

  • The person who wrote the comment – they will continue to see their comment as usual and will not be notified that it was hidden.

  • The commenter's Facebook friends – they can still see the comment and interact with it (like, reply, etc.).

  • Page admins and moderators – as an admin or moderator, you'll see hidden comments grayed out in your comment section. You can unhide them at any time.

For everyone else – your followers, fans, and the general public – the comment is invisible.

Good to know: Hiding is fully reversible. You can unhide a comment at any time through replient.ai or directly on Facebook.

Instagram

On Instagram, hiding works similarly to Facebook, with one key difference:

  • The person who wrote the comment – the comment still appears completely normal to them under your post. They receive no notification about the hide action.

  • You as the account owner – you can view and manage hidden comments in replient.ai.

Unlike Facebook, the commenter's friends and followers on Instagram cannot see the hidden comment. Only the author themselves can still see it.

TikTok

TikTok handles hidden comments slightly differently from Meta platforms:

  • The person who wrote the comment – they can still see their comment and have no way of knowing it was hidden.

  • You as the account owner – you can see filtered and hidden comments in your moderation area and in replient.ai.

For all other users, the hidden comment is no longer visible. Note, however, that the comment still counts toward the total comment count on the video – it just won't be displayed.

Good to know: TikTok also automatically filters certain comments (e.g., spam or offensive content). You can find these in the "Filtered comments" section in your TikTok settings.

You can check the "Activity Protocol" within replient.ai to check if replient.ai or TikTok itself did hide the comment
