Short answer: Most errors come from one of four things: the channel connection has expired, the comment no longer exists on the platform, the platform temporarily limits your page, or the action is not supported on that platform. Find the exact message in the tables below. If you are not sure, open the comment's Activity Protocol.
Where you see the error
When you reply, like, hide, delete or block by hand, a red message appears in the corner. The title (for example Reply unsuccessful. Retry later.) says what failed. The line below it gives the reason. Hiding and liking use the same title as replying.
When an automation or a bulk action fails, the reason is in the Activity Protocol. Open the comment, click Show Activities, find the line marked (Failed) in red and hover over the info icon to read the reason.
Connection and permission errors
Message | What it means | What to do |
Access token expired. Please refresh the token from learnings page | The connection to Facebook, Instagram or YouTube is no longer valid. This happens after a password change, when a permission was removed, or when the platform logs you out. | Open Learning, click the three dots on the channel and choose Reconnect. Grant all permissions and use an account with admin access to the page. |
Invalid or expired LinkedIn access token | Your LinkedIn connection has expired. | Reconnect LinkedIn in Learning. |
Insufficient permissions or invalid page role | LinkedIn rejected the action because your LinkedIn user has no admin role on the company page. | Get an admin role for the page on LinkedIn, then reconnect LinkedIn. |
Connected channel not found | The channel this comment belongs to was deleted in Learning. | Connect the channel again. Comments of a deleted channel are deleted with it. |
No Facebook user token for this channel. Reconnect it to like Instagram comments. | Liking Instagram comments needs a Facebook login, and replient.ai has none for this channel. | Reconnect Instagram with the Instagram option (via Meta Business Suite). |
Instagram comment likes are only supported for Instagram accounts connected via Facebook login. | Your Instagram is connected with Instagram (organic). That connection cannot like comments. | Connect Instagram via Meta Business Suite instead. Switching deletes your current Instagram comments and analytics, so read How do I set up Conversation Routing for Instagram? first. |
This influencer has not granted permission to reply to their Instagram comments on their behalf. | You are replying on a partner's Instagram partnership post and the partner has not agreed to it yet. | Ask the partner to give permission. See Manage comments on partnership ads and co-posts. |

You do not have permission to manage comments for this brand | Your team role does not include the permission Manage comments. The like and hide buttons are greyed out as well. | Ask the account owner to add the permission. |

Platform limits
Message | What it means | What to do |
[Platform] has temporarily blocked this page from replying to comments to protect against spam. Maybe try again in about [N] min. | Facebook or Instagram limited how often your page may reply or post. replient.ai pauses replies for 1 hour. A banner says Replies are paused for your [platform] page. | Wait. replient.ai retries about once an hour and sends pending replies when the block is lifted. Replying less in a short time helps. |
Temporarily blocked by Facebook for too many actions. Please try again later. | The same limit, reported by Facebook. Instagram shows the same text with "Instagram". | Wait and try again later. |
Too many requests. Please try again in a few minutes. | TikTok received too many requests from your account. | Wait a few minutes. |

An unknown error occurred, Failed to send comment | The platform gave no reason. | Open the Activity Protocol and check the time. Try again after a minute. Facebook and Instagram sometimes report this error although the reply was posted – replient.ai checks for that and shows Reply successful if so. If it keeps failing, send us the link to the comment. |
The reply is too long
Message | What it means | What to do |
Only 150 characters allowed | TikTok replies can have 150 characters. Longer replies are split into two comments automatically. | Shorten the reply. |
Reply cannot be safely split into two TikTok comments. It is either one long sentence or longer than 300 characters. | The reply is too long for two TikTok comments or has no good place to split it. | Shorten it to 300 characters at most, or split it into shorter sentences. |
Partial reply sent. [X] of [Y] parts were posted. Do not retry to avoid duplicates. | The first part of a long TikTok reply was posted, the second part failed. | Do not send it again. Check the comment on TikTok and add the missing part by hand. |

The action is not supported on this platform
Not every platform offers every action. Buttons for actions that don't work are usually hidden or greyed out, and an automation skips such an action.
Action | TikTok | YouTube | Google Reviews, Google Play, App Store, Ausgezeichnet.org | |||
Reply | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Like | Yes | Yes (not with Instagram (organic)) | Yes | Yes | No | No |
Hide | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No | No |
Delete | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | Yes | No |
Private message | Yes | Yes | No | No | No | No |
Related messages: Hide action is not supported for comment or post mention, Like action is not supported for post mentions on [platform] and [Platform] does not support replying to a mention in a post caption. Replying to a mention in a post caption works on Facebook and Instagram only, and mentions can't be hidden or deleted.
Blocking a user
Message | What it means | What to do |
Failed to block user: Please try again later | The platform did not accept the block for an unknown reason. | Try again later. |
Cannot reblock target so soon after unblocking target | You unblocked this person on Facebook a moment ago. | Wait a while, then block again. |
Facebook can no longer find this account. It was most likely deleted or deactivated. | The account does not exist any more. | Nothing to do. |
Facebook does not allow blocking this account, usually because it has a role on the page. | The person is an admin or has another role on your page. | Remove their role on Facebook first. |
Lines in the Activity Protocol
For automations and bulk actions, the Activity Protocol shows what happened to each step. A failed or skipped step never stops the other steps of the same automation.
Line | What it means |
(Failed) | The platform rejected the action. Hover over the info icon to read the reason, then look it up in the tables above. |
Skipped: like action is not supported for [platform] | The automation has a Like step but the platform has no like for comments. The same applies to hide, delete, private message and block. These lines name the platform with its short code: tt = TikTok, li = LinkedIn, yt = YouTube, ig = Instagram, gr = Google Reviews, ps = Google Play, as = App Store, ao = Ausgezeichnet.org. |
Skipped: [action] is not supported for comment or story mentions | Mentions can't be hidden, deleted or sent a private message. |
Skipped: can't send a DM on the influencer's behalf | Comments on partnership posts: replient.ai never sends DMs for an influencer partner. |
Skipped: comments on partnership videos cannot be deleted | YouTube partnership videos belong to another channel. |
Skipped: processing is paused until credits are added, Skipped — no credits left | You are out of credits. The step runs again after you add credits. See How do credits work?. |
Likely blocked by TikTok moderation, Reply likely blocked by TikTok | TikTok kept the comment or your reply hidden. TikTok often hides replies that send people off the app – Instagram, WhatsApp, links or similar calls to action. replient.ai can't release it. |
