Short answer: Open Learning, click Add additional channels, choose TikTok and click Authorize. Log in to TikTok, allow all permissions, then pick your account and click Connect now. To also manage comments on your TikTok ads, connect your ad accounts in the same step or later.
Before you start
Only the account owner (team admin) of the brand can connect channels. For team members the connections are greyed out.
Each brand can have one TikTok account. A TikTok account can only be connected to one brand at a time.
Your TikTok account must be a Business account. Personal accounts can't be connected – switch to a Business account in the TikTok app first.
Log in to TikTok in your browser with the account you want to connect.
Step 1: Open the connect dialog
In the sidebar, click Learning. Under Connected social media accounts, click Add additional channels (1).
Step 2: Choose TikTok
In the dialog Add more channels to your brand, click TikTok (1).
Step 3: Authorize and log in
Tick the box to accept the terms and click Authorize.
TikTok opens. Log in with the account you want to connect.
Grant all requested permissions. replient.ai needs them to read your comments and to reply, like and hide.
Step 4: Select your account
You are sent back to replient.ai. In the dialog Choose from your authorized accounts, select your TikTok account under Page name: and click Connect now.
Below the account you also see Manage Ad post comments. Fill it in now if you run TikTok ads, or skip it and do it later (see next section).
replient.ai then imports your recent comments and learns from the replies you already wrote.
Manage comments on your TikTok ads
Comments on TikTok ads only arrive after you connect the ad accounts you run ads with.
In Learning, open the three dots on your TikTok card (1) and click Connect ad accounts (2). If you already connected some, the entry is called Change connected ad accounts.
In the dialog TikTok ad accounts, click Connect TikTok Marketing (1) and approve the access on TikTok.
Back in replient.ai, select your ad accounts under Ad accounts and click Save ad accounts.
Your TikTok card now shows an Ads connected badge. Hover over it to see which ad accounts are linked.
💡 Tip: If you see the banner Keep managing your TikTok ad comments at the top, your TikTok was connected before ad accounts were supported. Click Connect ad accounts in the banner to fix it. You can hide it with Dismiss.
What you can do with TikTok comments
Action | TikTok |
Read comments (organic and ads) | Yes |
Reply | Yes |
Like | Yes |
Hide | Yes |
Delete | Only your own replies. Comments from other people can only be hidden. Automations can't delete on TikTok. |
Block user | No |
Direct messages and DM automations | No. TikTok doesn't give us access to DMs. |
Good to know
150 characters per reply. TikTok limits a comment to 150 characters. If your reply is longer, replient.ai splits it into two comments at the end of a sentence (or after an emoji). That works up to two comments. If a reply can't be split cleanly, it isn't sent. Shorten it and try again.
Replies with links can disappear. TikTok often hides replies that send people off the app, for example with links or a call to move to Instagram or WhatsApp. replient.ai then marks the reply as Likely blocked by TikTok.
Only your own ads. Only comments on ads published by the connected TikTok account are imported, even if the ad account is shared with others.
If the connection breaks
A red banner There is an issue with your TikTok (your account name) connection means replient.ai can no longer read your comments. Click Reconnect in the banner, or open Learning, click the three dots on the TikTok card and choose Reconnect. Changing your TikTok password can cause this.
If you don't want to use TikTok anymore, open the three dots on the TikTok card and click Delete. replient.ai asks you to confirm, because this also deletes the comments collected from that account and can't be undone.
