Can I export my comments?

Yes: download your comments as a CSV file from Comment analytics.

Written by Thomas Danninger

Short answer: Yes. Go to Insights → Comment analytics, choose a date range, click Export and then Download raw comments (CSV). You get one file with one row for every comment of the current brand in that period, including the reply that was sent.

Before you start

  • You need the permission show analytics. The account owner always has it.

  • The export is for the brand you are in. To export another brand, switch to it first.

  • Exporting costs no credits.

Step 1: Open Comment analytics and choose the period

In the sidebar, click Insights → Comment analytics (1). Click the date range at the top right (3), choose a preset such as Last 30 days or pick your days in the calendar, and click Apply. The export contains the comments that were written in this period.

  • The page accepts a range of up to 400 days. For a longer history, export in several steps.

  • One file holds up to 200,000 comments. If you have more in your range, pick a shorter range.

Step 2: Download the CSV

  1. Wait until the numbers on the page have loaded. Until then the Export button (2) is greyed out. Its tooltip says Waiting for all analytics data to finish loading before export…

  2. Make sure no filter is active. With a filter, the tooltip says Export is unavailable while filters are active. Clear all filters to export. Click the filter icon and then Reset filters.

  3. Click Export (2) and choose Download raw comments (CSV). The button shows Exporting… while the file is prepared. Then the download starts. A big export can take a while.

The file is named raw-comments-, your brand name and the first and last day of your range, for example raw-comments-example-brand-2026-09-17_2026-10-17.csv. Wait until a download is finished before you start the next one. Only one export per brand and person can run at a time.

What is in the file?

The comments are sorted from oldest to newest. Comments written by your own page are not included. Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. The file is UTF-8, so umlauts and emojis show correctly.

Columns

What they contain

create_time, platform

When the comment was written and on which platform.

commented_by, user_id

The name and the platform ID of the commenter.

comment_text, sentiment, tags, stars_rating

The comment, the AI sentiment, the tags (separated by commas) and the star rating for review platforms.

comment_id, external_comment_id, parent_comment_id

The ID in replient.ai, the ID on the platform and the ID of the comment it replies to.

post_external_id, post_type, post_url, replient_url, post_caption

The post the comment belongs to, whether it is an ad or an organic post, the link to the post and the link to the comments of that post in replient.ai.

ad_name, adset_name, campaign_name

Ad details, if the comment is on an ad.

reacted_by_page, liked, hidden, deleted, done

YES or NO: whether your page reacted to the comment (liked, hid or answered it) and what happened to it.

answered_by_automation, answered_by_bulk, sent_answer

YES or NO for answers by an automation or a bulk action, and the text of the reply that was sent.

⚠️ Important: The file contains names and user IDs of your commenters. Treat it like any other personal data and store it carefully.

Other things you can download

The Export menu has more entries. They contain the numbers of your report, not single comments:

  • Download PDF and Download Excel: the report with all graphs and numbers.

  • Download CSV (per graph): one CSV per graph.

For direct messages, open Insights → DM analytics. Its Export menu has Download raw DMs (CSV). See What do the numbers in Analytics mean?.

What is not possible

  • The export is always a CSV file of all comments in a date range. You cannot export only the comments of one post or one filter. If you need a subset, filter the file in your spreadsheet. The columns post_external_id, platform and tags help with that.

  • There is no scheduled export. You start every download yourself.

  • To share a single conversation, open the comment and click the envelope icon above the comment. Share thread by email sends the whole thread with all replies and the post to people outside replient.ai. This is available on paid plans, not during the trial.
